Jammin Masters provides archival transfer and restoration services for reel-to-reel tapes, cassettes, records, and other obsolete audio media to digital formats for future generations to enjoy.
Does your organization have an archive of old audio recordings in poor condition that require format changes for modern playback?
Through the use of leading edge digital equipment and software, Jammin Masters has restored and archived historical recordings for many corporations and institutions.
For the last 100 years there have been many forms of audio storage: 78rpm disk, 33.3 vinyl, cassette and digital audiotape (DAT), to name a few. These formats have allowed many to save moments in our history and personal lives. It has been a popular belief that analog audio was permanent. This in fact, did not turn out to be true.

However with state of the art software and hardware now available, we are able to transfer media from obsolete formats onto modern permanent formats. In addition, we now have the technology to restore old recordings by removing unwanted noise such as clicks, pops, hum and tape hiss.
Procedure
1. Obtain. The audio source is delivered or uploaded to our facilities.
2. Clean. We examine and physically clean the source materials, using archival solvents and tools.
3. Prepare. Next, we select, prepare, and calibrate the playback device. If necessary, we conduct preliminary services such as “baking” (to prevent oxide from flaking off old tape) and azimuth alignment (to replicate the head alignment of the original recording device).
4. Digitize. We transfer the audio from its original format to a computer hard drive.
5. Restore. We digitally correct the audio, which may include: cleaning clicks, pops, hum, hiss, speed, pitch, and equalization. We also may adjust for ambiance and fullness of the audio.
6. Output. We output to CD or the medium of your choice.
7. Test. We test the final product to make sure that you will be satisfied with the results.
8. Deliver. The original and restored audio are returned to you!
